By using Scan Vault you agree to what follows. If you do not, please uninstall it.

What Scan Vault is

An Android app that scans documents to PDF and works entirely on your device. It is provided by xLogik.

Your documents are yours

We claim no ownership of anything you scan, import or create. We also have no access to it — the app sends no document data anywhere, so there is nothing for us to hold, read or hand over.

This cuts both ways, and it is the most important thing on this page:

Your documents exist only on your phone. There is no backup on a server. If you uninstall the app, reset the device, or lose the phone, they are gone permanently and we cannot recover them. Use Export every document in Settings to keep copies of anything that matters.

What you may not use it for

Do not use Scan Vault to reproduce documents you have no right to reproduce, to forge or alter records so as to deceive, or to break the law in your country. Adding a watermark or a signature to a document does not make it legally binding, and this app makes no claim that it does.

Pro subscriptions

Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription: monthly, every six months, or annually. There is no one-time or lifetime purchase. If you bought a lifetime licence while one was offered, it remains valid — withdrawing the offer does not withdraw what you already own.

What Pro changes. Text recognition itself is free and unlimited for everyone — every document is read automatically whether or not you pay, and searching your library by document name is always free. What the free plan limits is opening that recognised text on screen, and searching inside your documents: three of each a day. You can earn one more of either by watching an ad.

The free plan also scans up to 10 pages at a time, merges up to three documents at once, and makes one high-quality scan a day — later scans that day use standard quality, and the app tells you so. Copies you share or save carry a small Scan Vault mark in the corner, which you can leave off a single copy by watching an ad.

Pro removes every one of those limits and the ads, adds the private safe, password protection, compression, PDFs with selectable text and export as page images or plain text, and keeps deleted files recoverable for 30 days instead of 7.

If Pro ends, nothing you put in the private safe is locked away. You can still open the safe, read what is in it and take documents out; only adding to it needs Pro.

• Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation.
• Renewal is automatic unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
• Managing and cancelling is done in Google Play → Subscriptions, not in this app. We cannot cancel it for you.
• The free trial runs three days and is offered on every plan. It converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before it ends — Play sends a reminder first, and you can cancel from Subscriptions in the Play Store at any point during the trial without being charged. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy. Eligibility is never having subscribed to this app before, so the trial cannot be taken a second time by choosing a different plan.
• Refunds are handled by Google Play under its own policy. We do not process payments and so cannot issue refunds directly, though we will help where we can.

Prices are shown in your local currency before you commit, and may change; you will always be told before a changed price is charged.

Ads

The free version shows ads through Google AdMob. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you will be asked for consent, and you can change that choice in Settings at any time. Buying Pro removes ads.

Some ads are optional rather than shown to you. When you have used a day's free text opens or in-document searches, the app offers you an ad in exchange for one more, and when you share a document it offers one in exchange for sending that copy without the Scan Vault mark. You never have to watch one, nothing is taken away if you decline, and declining leaves the rest of the app exactly as it was. A completed ad is always acknowledged on screen before the app continues, so you can see what you earned.

The length of an ad is not ours to set. Google decides which advertisement you are shown and how long it runs, including whether it can be skipped and whether more than one plays in sequence. We ask for one rewarded ad; what arrives is Google's.

Availability

Scan Vault is provided as it is. Some features depend on Google Play Services — the camera scanner and text recognition in particular — and will not work on devices that lack it. The app tells you when that happens rather than failing silently.

We do not promise the app will be free of defects, and we may change or discontinue features in future versions.

Liability

To the extent the law where you live allows it, xLogik is not liable for lost documents, lost data, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages arising from using Scan Vault. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Given the app stores your documents only on your device, please take the backup advice above seriously. It is the one loss we genuinely cannot help with.

Changes

If these terms change, the date above changes, and material changes will be shown in the app.
